A second home from the start.

The ‘90s was a defining decade — Nintendo 64 hit the shelves, Hotmail came online, and Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame graced the silver screens in 1996. Big changes swept up cities and nations, with a cultural revolution taking shape in Kuala Lumpur’s culinary and nightlife landscape…

The crowds for football matches over supper, after-work cocktails, and caffeine-fueled lunch meetings seemed like completely different worlds to most. But not for founders Fred Choo and Michele Kwok. For the dynamic duo, the future was laced with unbridled promise and untapped potential to blur the lines between identities and interests in the food and beverage industry.

The missing piece in the city’s neighbourhoods was something they ultimately dreamed up: affordable gathering places where a kaleidoscope of communities could mingle and feast, dine and unwind, work and play, connect and create, celebrate and spectate. Eateries where both family dinners and romantic date nights can take place. Nightlife spots where artisanal cocktails and champagne fuel festivities and fun. Spaces where you’ll see the best of all worlds, from the plates to the people.

The once-sleepy town of Mont Kiara, now a buzzing walkable suburb, became home to our very first SOULed OUT. What started out as a hidden gem and a charming neighbourhood joint has grown into a collection of gastrobars dotted across locations you love, inspired by community and culture, with cuisines spanning from Asian to Western and everything in between. Almost 30 years later, SOUL Society is still a family-owned brand that blends tradition with trends to welcome everyone.

Today, SOUL Society’s portfolio stretches across vibrant KL townships, with more underway beyond the borders. Music, conversations, and heavenly aromas fill the air of all 7 outlets under our SOULed OUT and WIP brands collectively till midnight, day in and day out. From Happy Hour with colleagues to kid-friendly dinners, the soul of society comes alive here.
